Every month of the year is dedicated to an aspect of our faith worthy of pondering.
The month of NOVEMBER highlights the holy souls in purgatory.
The month of November is dedicated to the Holy Souls in Purgatory. In a special way during this month, the Church encourages us to pray for those souls who have departed from this life, but have not yet attained the joys of heaven.
A simple and classical way to pray daily for the souls in purgatory is with the following prayer:
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
You will also find All Soul's Day envelopes in the pews. Please fill these out with the names of deceased loved ones and turn them into the Parish Office or the collection basket and they will be remembered in prayer the entire month of November.
